About Virginia Valentine

I have been creating concept cakes as a hobby since the age of about 15 and have been working as a professional cake designer and decorator since 2005.

My approach is very contemporary, I rarely work at all in fruit cake (don’t like an easy life!) and offer you a wide choice of delicious sponge cakes using family recipes handed down to me by my Grandmother, together with my own innovations to create a simply delicious cake. It is as important to me that the inside tastes as nice as the outside looks!

I take great pride and care over your cake. Each one is special to me, and I will make everything fresh to order for you. Most of the decorations are hand crafted by me, with only 1 or 2 exceptions where uniformity is needed and it is impossible to do so by hand.

Stand Hire Charges

There is a small charge for the hand made non returnable stands, and also for the hire of the acrylic stands, as follows:

  • 2/3 tier £15
  • 4/5 tier £25
  • 6/7 tier £35
  • 8 tier £45

The acrylic stands are available in round, square, heart, petal and hexagonal shapes and are avaialble for up to seven tiers (eight tiers for the round). A deposit refundable upon safe return of the acrylic stand, payable by cash or cheque as follows:

  • 2/3 tier £20
  • 4/5 tier £50
  • 6/7 tier £80
  • 8 tier £100

Delivery Charges

We are happy to deliver Wedding Cakes within a 50 mile radius of South Manchester. Charges are as follows:

You are more than welcome to collect your cake or nominate a trusted family member or friend to collect on your behalf.

Wedding Favours

A new range to be launched in 2007! Prices start from £1, We will give you a quote based on your preferences and expected numbers, on more than 1 item if you are having difficulty deciding.
Please also ask us for a quote if you are thinking of self assembling your favours, as we offer a discount off normal shop retail prices and have a good range of suppliers so we am able to get hold of a wide range of unusual and sweet treat items.

Four chocolates in wedding box £3 each.
Ask us for my list of lollipop and chocolate moulds, as we have a large collection!
Favours can be booked up to 6 months in advance, a minimum of a months notice is needed to ensure we can actually meet your requirements. You will be provided with a firm quotation and a 50% deposit is payable to secure your order, with the balance being due 2 weeks before the delivery date.

You are welcome to collect your favours by arrangement or they can be posted to you using our courier service with Business Post. The delivery price is £7.00, except for those orders containing chocolate products which are dispatched in specially insulated transport boxes for £11.00.

Angel Cake Price Guide

The reason we say guide is because we prepare a quotation for you once you are clearer as to what your requirements are. There are so many styles to choose from and what might seem like a minor alteration to you might be something that takes us hours to achieve and would affect the price considerably. Our prices do reflect the fact that we spend a lot of time hand crafting all the detail, often we would only produce 3 to 4 wedding cakes in a week, spending around 40 hours on more complex ones.
